Fair Registration Practices (FRP) Report, 2009

Information to Applicants: The CMO reviewed its website with a communications consultant to ensure that the information is clear, accessible and comprehensive. As a result of the review, the CMO updated the Becoming Registered pages and made them easier to navigate. It has also added all of the policies, guidelines, standards and statements in the Registrant's Binder to the website.

Upon request, applicants can receive regular email updates.

Also, the CMO shortened the time (from 21 to 14 days) needed to respond to applicants about either of the following:

  • the completion of their applications
  • the completion of referrals of applications to the Registration Committee

Registration Amendments: As of March 31, 2010, registration amendments proposed in 1999 and 2006, including the implementation of a registration examination, were still under review by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.

For a description of all OFC-monitored developments for this profession for 2009, see the 2009-2010 Annual Report.
